The night was dark, the moon barley a scale's thickness in the sky. Stars glittered, but offfered litlte light on the stretch of wild grass. In the center of the the grass was a small lagoon, shaped similar to a capital B. The water shimmered, reflecting a the stars, making the surface shimmer like gems. A figured moved toward the lagoon; a female black Starraptor with red spines, eyes, and circular patterns on her scales that seemed to be those of a blood ritual. Something glowed brighter than all the stars next to her, following her. Several small spheres of light floated around the glimmereing object, their light almost as powerful at the diamond they circled around. Their light touched the lagoon even from a large distance, drowning out the light from the stars and moon, turning the scales on the starraptor that the light touched from ebony to ivory.

"Brook!" the starraptor called, stopping several meters from the lagoon. A mermaid with blonde hair, blue dots below her eyes, and a blue star between her eyes rose from the egde of the lagoon, her tail appearing in the middle of the teal waters. Water streamed from her hair as she looked for the Starraptor. The light from the diamond and its orbs touched her nose, arms, and a few of her scales, bleaching those parts of her ashy white.

"Who are you?"

"My owner couldn't come like he'd said he would," the Starraptor said, ignoring the mermaid's question. "But he told me to give you this." The light diamond and its orbs began to drift toward the mermaid, keeping their solar-system-like form. "Use it well. This item's light can never be erased, even in the darkest and strangest places. If you are ever in distress, just hold it and say in your thoughts that you need help, and help will come. My owner says that, by touching the orbs, you can contact him. There was something else.... OH YES! If there is ever a place and a night you can not see the stars, throw this up into the sky, and the stars will shine, bright than ever. However, if you do this, the item and its orbs will disappear in reserecting the stars." By the end of her speach, the diamond that the Starraptor had brought had floated over to Brook's hands.
